Photojournalist – WAND TV | Decatur, IL
WAND TV is seeking a Photojournalist to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate will gather content with an emphasis on creativity, lighting and composition.
What You’ll Do:
Capture compelling video and sound for daily newscasts
Edit stories and other videos for on-air and online platforms
Work with reporters as a team to tell compelling stories
Operate station vehicles including satellite trucks for live news elements
What We’re Looking For:
Self-driven passion for journalism and creative storytelling
Knowledge and understanding of ENG operations and live broadcast equipment
Strong photography skills
Non-linear editing experience
Deadline-driven with the ability to multitask under pressure
A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
What You’ll Need:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, photography, or related field is preferred
Experience: 1–2 years working in a newsroom or equivalent

The expected pay range for this position is $32,000-$35,000 annually.
WAND-TV is an award-winning station, centrally located in Decatur and is in a tri-phenated market. The Illinois capital is to the west and the world-renowned University of Illinois to the east. The cost of living is low, recently ranked 3rd most affordable city in the country. It has great schools and a low crime rate.
Decatur's central location means it's a short drive to Chicago, St. Louis or Indianapolis.
