SUPERVISOR: Director, Technology and Information Services
BASIC FUNCTION: Full time position. Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems. Supports and maintains user needs and requests.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required - Associate Degree in Applied Computer Technology or equivalent experience. Knowledge of PC software.
Preferred - Associate Degree in Applied Computer Technology and 3 to 5 years experience in customer service.
DESIRED QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS: 1. Excellent communication skills. 2. Ability to install and maintain PCs. 3. High degree of confidentiality. 4. Must have good customer service communication skills and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in PC support and customer service.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Objective 1. Provide quality support and services to employees and students for I.T. systems, services, and advanced function and features support for Microsoft Office Products as well as other software products deemed critical to Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC).
Nature and Scope 1. Responsible for imaging and deployment of all types of college computers. 2. Provide support for all college peripherals (scanners, printers, MFPs, etc.) 3. Provide support for all classroom technology. 4. Assist all NCC employees in the proper and efficient business functionality for installed desktop software. 5. Responsible for supporting all upgrades issued by the Technology and Information services department. 6. Develop, communicate, and distribute answers to frequently asked question through the ticketing system and analyze call ticket knowledge database for training issues and requirements. 7. Responsible for obtaining quotes and purchasing for the technology requirements of NCC. 8. Obtain, monitor, and maintain all software license agreements. 9. Assist entire Technology and Information Services department staff as needed.
